March 10, 1789, the construction of Juan Diego's Hut is approved by Alonzo Nuñez de Haro y Peralta, Archbishop of Mexico. It was built over the hut where Juan Diego lived with his uncle Juan Bernardino in 1531, on the occasion of the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition. Although there is no exact date for its construction, it is known that by 1803 it already received worship for our Most Holy Mother. This hermitage collapsed from old age in 1910. It is known that previously there was another chapel there, also collapsed by time, according to Garibi Tortolero.
September 6, 1947
September 6, 1947, the Reconstruction of the Hermitage of the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition is ordered: which was blessed on December 12 of the same year by Dr. Luis María Martínez, Archbishop of Mexico, a great promoter of the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition in Tulpetlac.
January 1948
January 1948, the Hermitage becomes a Sanctuary: approved by D. Luis María Martínez. He also approved the construction of a new temple, due to the numerous faithful who began to gather in Tulpetlac to honor the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition. Aiming, in the words of Msgr. María Martínez: "to express to the Blessed Virgin gratitude for having cured Juan Bernardino and having declared the name of Guadalupe". This second approval was preceded by a meticulous study promoted by Msgr. María Martínez, carried out by prominent Guadalupan historians who reached a favorable conclusion for Tulpetlac as the place where Juan Diego lived when the apparitions occurred.
March 16, 1949
March 16, 1949, Perpetual Plenary Indulgence is granted: by Pope Pius XII for those who visit the Sanctuary on the 12th of each month and comply with the usual conditions. This grace was promoted by Msgr. María Martínez, who had not been able to provide a stable priest for this place he loved so much.
December 12, 1956
December 12, 1956, the Blessing of the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition takes place: by His Excellency Mr. Miguel Darío Miranda y Gómez, Primate Archbishop of Mexico, who praised the neighbors of Tulpetlac with the following words: "this temple will be a monument to your faith, and when looking at it, future generations will recognize in you the example of love for the Virgin of Guadalupe".
September 30, 1960
September 30, 1960, Fr. Enrique Amezcua Medina visits Tulpetlac for the first time: performing his service at the Basilica of Guadalupe as choir chaplain representing the ecclesiastical province of Michoacán, he is invited by his friend, the engineer Mr. Carlos Diez de Sollano. Moved by the spiritual abandonment of such a place, he offers the Blessed Virgin to work for the dignification of her Sanctuary, the place where she appeared for the fifth time. After visiting a couple more times, he celebrates Mass for the first time in the Sanctuary on October 12 of that same year, the date when the Guadalupan Holy Year instituted by His Holiness John XXIII begins.
January 8, 1961
January 8, 1961, the parish of Christ the King and Saint Mary of Guadalupe is canonically erected by the Bishop of Texcoco, Don Francisco Ferreira y Arreola. Fr. Enrique Amezcua Medina takes possession, who until that day was the Choir Chaplain of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Following the itinerary of the Virgin of Guadalupe: Tepeyac-Tulpetlac. This town, where Juan Bernardino in his agony asked for a priest to help him, and from where Juan Diego left in search of a priest for his uncle in 1531, lived 150 years of priestly orphanage; from the beginning of national independence in 1810, it lacked a stable priest. It was a priestly grace granted through Saint Mary of Guadalupe, the erection of the first-born parish of the Diocese of Texcoco.

This image is the work of the inspired Guadalupan painter Luis Toral.

September 12, 1963, the Confraternity Operarios del Reino de Cristo is founded, in the I. and N. Basilica of Guadalupe, a work that has developed around the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition in Tulpetlac, by Fr. Enrique Amezcua Medina, D. Abraham Martínez Betancourt, and D. Manuel Pío López.

December 12, 1964, the Blessing of the Fountain of Health takes place: by D. Francisco Ferreira, Bishop of Texcoco. Asking St. Mary of Guadalupe to welcome the water from that Fountain as an instrument of her love and mercy for her children. The water was located at that key site of the Sanctuary by His Excellency Mr. Luis Guízar Barragán, Bishop of Saltillo.

December 4, 1966, Solemn delivery of the Guadalupan Rose to Tulpetlac (replica of the Golden Rose that Paul VI gave to the Basilica), a sign of affection and esteem for the Sanctuary of the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition in Tulpetlac. Delivered by Cardinal Don Luigi Raimondi to the Bishop of Texcoco.

December 9, 1966, Entrustment of the reconstruction, expansion, and care of the Sanctuary: to Fr. Enrique Amezcua and his foundation Confraternity Operarios del Reino de Cristo (CORC), by D. Francisco Ferreira. This foundation to this day continues at the service and care of the Sanctuary of the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition.

August 1976, remodeling and expansion works of the Sanctuary begin, with Engineer Don Raúl Camba, Architect D. Eduardo Morales, and Master Erasmo Martínez, from the construction company OCAZA, in charge. At this time, due to such remodelings, some children of the town manifest harsh opposition against Fr. Enrique Amezcua, from attempted imprisonment to death threats; dark pages are written in the Guadalupan history of Tulpetlac.

Where miraculously during the celebration, the womb of the Virgin Mary was illuminated by a ray of sunlight.
In the year 1998
In the year 1998, the last remodelings were carried out in the presbytery of the Sanctuary, with marble finishes, as we know it now. The altar was consecrated in 2019 by Monsignor Don Oscar Roberto Domínguez, Bishop of Ecatepec.
